Not less than 20.0% Vitamin C
• As an antioxidant, vitamin C provides protection against oxidative stress-induced cellular damage by scavenging of reactive oxygen species, vitamin E-dependent neutralization of lipid hydroperoxyl radicals, and by protecting proteins from alkylation by electrophilic lipid peroxidation products [1].
• The data obtained show that the Emblica fruit contains ascorbic acid (0.4%, w/w). It has also been found that Vitamin C accounts for approximately 45-70% of the antioxidant activity [2].
